Free Agents
Looking to join a team to play with? Don’t have a team of your own? Then you want to register as a FREE AGENT in the Platinum Sports SA League Apps application. OR are you a team looking for players to fill your team?? Here’s what to expect as a listed FREE AGENT for our events.
TEAMS LOOKING FOR PLAYERS: To view the Free Agents available:
1. Go to our Platinum Sports SA League Apps home page.
2. Click on “Leagues” or “Tournaments” at the top right.
3. On the left side, click on the League Division Name or Tournament Name (for example, “2024 Summer 1 Coed B (Low Intermediate Level)” or “2024 TOURNAMENT JUNE 6 - Coed/Men's/Women's”
4. Towards the right, under League or Tournament PROFILE, click on “PLAYERS”
5. Select FREE AGENT for the “Role” and click on “Filter”.
6. You can click on any Free Agent name to view their information/skill level.
7. Log in to your League Apps account if you want to “Send Message” to email any Free Agent directly.
** After rosters are submitted, any spots left open on a team’s roster will be filled by available FREE AGENTS. Captains are encouraged to contact the added FREE AGENT if they need a player beyond their initial team roster.
FREE AGENTS LOOKING FOR A TEAM
* Players may REGISTER as an individual FREE AGENT if they do not have a team to play with and would like to join a team for the leagues or tourneys. Free Agent registration usually closes two weeks after the leagues start and a day before a tournament.
* Free Agent players who want to step up as captain and form a new team of available free agents can contact Anita @ 210-722-0770 to obtain the available free agent information and procedures.
* When registering as a free agent be sure to enter as much information about yourself such as age, height, level of play, positions you can play, experience…captains appreciate information when looking at the list of free agents.
* Registering as a free agent DOES NOT GUARANTEE placement on a team, it only notifies team captains of your availability and willingness to join a team. It is the team captain’s responsibility to contact any free agents directly if they need a player for their team. Captains usually contact free agents via email or text.
* Free agents are NOT required to pay ahead of time and can wait to pay after they have been picked up by a team. Free agents who are asked to join a team for a tourney or for the entire league season will be required to pay their portion of the team fee per the team captain’s direction. Free agents who are asked to step in as a SUB may or may not have to pay to play as a sub, it'll depend on the captain's/team's needs.
* FOR TOURNEYS: Free agents who are not contacted prior to the day of the tournament are encouraged to show up at the start of the tournament ready to play IN THE CASE a team is short a player.
* FOR LEAGUES: Free agents who are not contacted prior to the start of leagues are encouraged to show up the first two weeks of league nights ready to play IN THE CASE a team is short a player.
* FOR LEAGUES: We will be adding all available free agents as SUBS to teams (in divisions you registered for) who do not have at least 8 players listed on their rosters. Be prepared to be called upon by a captain if their team happens to be short a player during the league season. We do not know when you would get a call/text/email, it could be a week ahead or even that night of league play, it depends when the captain finds out they need a player. You are not obligated to play.
* PLEASE let us know if you are no longer a FREE AGENT looking for a team so that we can remove you from free agent status.
